Air fried chicken bites (they're pretty awesome)
For New Years my partner-in-crime and I decided to make homemade chicken bites. It was our first time making them in our new air fryer (thanks Santa) and well, they turned out…
So I thought I would share our recipe, except we totally winged it (no chicken pun intended).
I can tell you roughly what we did and with what ingredients, and there are probably a thousand recipes online, BUT, we used Mayo, so…
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Air fryer
INGREDIENTS
Flour/flour-blend, or in our case, gluten-free flour mix (Tapioca and potato starch, xantham gum, and rice flour)
Mayonaise
Spices( Cumin, paprika, garlic, salt, pepper)
Chicken breast
HOW-TO
Before we start, make sure you’re working safely in the kitchen. Use oven mitts when necessary, don’t touch hot things etc. Make sure to have a guardian with you if need be.
Okay!
First, make your coating. Combine spices above with mayonnaise until desired taste.
Grab a plate. Throw your flour/flour mix on a plate.
Grab your chicken breast. Cut into chunks about equal in size (and small enough to fit in your air fryer).
Lightly coat your chicken breast chunks in your mayo dressing, then roll around in the flour mix. Have fun with this, Get your hands dirty.
By now, you should have a piece of raw chicken coated lightly with your mayo dressing and flour mix.
Our air fryer seems to do everything at 390 degrees (celsius for us Canadians). Let it preheat for about 5 minutes, and then pop them in!
This part is most important: watch them! We really didn’t have a set time for them to fry, we just waited until our desired level of crispness.
And voila!
If you made them, let me know in the comments how they turned out!
